Dr. Lisa Muiznieks is Biofluidics Expert at the MIC. She obtained a Molecular Biology and Genetics (Hons I) degree followed by a PhD in Biochemistry (protein structure-function; 2006, University of Sydney, Australia). She then held postdoctoral and Research Associate positions at The Hospital for Sick Children, Canada (elastic materials, biomechanics, phase separation, design of droplet-based drug delivery systems). After a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship at Elvesys (organ-on-chip, dynamic cell culture), she is now in charge of microfluidic aspects for biology applications, and in charge of supervising 1 PhD candidate. She is the industrial supervisor of seconded staff at the MIC.
